At the 2nd Quebec Social Forum, children and youth aged 3 to 14 will be invited to participate, too! The youngest can join us at the on-site daycare service, while older kids will have access to a variety of activities adapted to their age. Of course, several activities in our regular programme of workshops and cultural events may also be of interest to youth and their families. View All Youth Social Forum ActivitiesOn-site daycare at the FSQFrom Saturday October 10th to Monday October 12th (in the morning only), a daycare service for children aged 3 to 8 will be made available to parents. Care will be provided by students of the Early Childhood Education programme at the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, all of whom have received first aid training. Daycare service shall be provided from 8:00am to 12:00pm and from 1:30pm to 6:30pm. Parents are responsible for their children during the lunch hour; they are asked to pick up their children in order to give them lunch and snacks. To ensure the safety of all children at the daycare, no food will be served on-site. A maximum of 12 children will be admitted at once. Reservations will not be taken; the daycare will function on a first come, first served basis. Parents will be asked to fill out a registration form before leaving their child(ren) at the daycare. The form will ask for a brief description of the child(ren), information about the parent(s) and how they can be reached during the Forum, and will include a liability waiver to be signed by the parent. The Youth Social ForumFrom October 9th to 11th, youth aged 8 to 14 are invited to participate in a programme of activities designed especially for them, allowing them to live the full Quebec Social Forum experience! Youth workshops and conferences will be organized according to the same major themes as the other activities of the FSQ. Volunteers may be present to accompany activity facilitators, where appropriate. Participating youth remain, however, under the responsibility of their parent(s), who must sign a liability waiver before their child(ren) can participate. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at lunchtime and during breaks. |
