The Secretariat is a bit like the brain of the Quebec Social Forum. It ensures the FSQ's existence and coordinates between all the committees. The Secretariat is composed of the coordinators of each of the committees and the permanent employees. The permanent employees are elected by the General Assembly.

The Secretariat:

  • Prepares meeting agendas and meeting minutes of general assembly meetings;
  • Assures communication between the various working committees, as well as the regional forums. It also ensures that the committees are fulfilling their mandates and helps with coordination;
  • Manages the FSQ website with complete transparency, ensuring that information is collected and made available;
  • Maintains and updates mailing lists;
  • Provides a permanent contact point for external requests.

The permanent employees currently include a coordinator, an accountant and a webmaster. They were all elected via the general assembly.
