Logistics Committee

The Logistics Committee deals with the actual planning of the Quebec Social Forum (FSQ). The choice of venues, accommodation, transportation, creating linkages with youth camps or with the supply of products produced by the Quebec social economy, the logistics committee ensures that the FSQ actually takes place!

The logistics committee:

  • Supports all facets of the FSQ logistics planning (premises, food, transportation, accommodation, accessibility ...)
  • Works closely with the host city to coordinate the event, and also to find local partners with regards to supply of goods and services (social economy enterprises);
  • Creates ad hoc subcommittees to take charge of some specific aspects of logistics work(food, shelter ...)
  • Works closely with the region, particularly in regards to the issue of transportation and accommodation
  • Works closely with the programming committee in terms of infrastructure and capacity for the FSQ
  • May provide a means for linkages to occur, like a parallel camp for youth, and works closely with the groups concerned.
