General Assembly

The General Assembly is the Main Decision-Making Body of the FSQ

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

The General Assembly ratifies the decisions taken by the committees and settles disputes between these committees.

One of the objectives of the General Assembly is to allow committees and regional groups to present the progress of their work to others involved in the organization of the FSQ. It is therefore necessary that the General Assembly meets at least once every three months.

The General Assembly brings together all those involved in organizing the FSQ, either through the committees, in regional forums, through interest, or public engagement and communications.

The following excerpt from the Charter, illustrates how the voting process works at the General Assembly:

"4.5.2 Each organization involved in the organization of the FSQ has a right to vote. Each member of the secretariat has a right to vote. One representative of each committee shall have one vote. One representative of each regional group will have a right to vote. A person can have only one right to vote (there will be no duplication). "
